This is the first of eleven bridges in western Duchesne County scheduled to be replaced re-placed through the use of federal fed-eral funds, approved by the Utah State Flood Control committee, headed by Gus P. Backman, of Salt Lake City. Location of this first bridge to be completed under this disaster program is near the Weston Bates ranch on the Strawberry River. This timber bridge with a 48-foot span and a 16-foot roadway, cost approximately $9,000 to $10,000 for mater- t ials and labor, reports Bob Hilberi, representing the engineers en-gineers for this disaster work in Duchesne, Templeton 8c Lincke, of Salt Lake City. Contracting Corporation, of Salt Lake City, is the contractor con-tractor for the bridge construction con-struction work under the flood disaster program in this county. Other bridges scheduled sched-uled for construction are on the Duchesne, Strawberry and Lake Fork rivers. |
