Show Word was received at the Harold Har-old Dillman home this morning that Mr. and Mrs. Keith Wardle, who are residing in Fredrick, Maryland, are the proud parents of a new baby boy, born Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Feb. 4. He weighed 8 pounds, 12V2 ounces, and reports re-ports from the overjoyed father are that mother and son are doing fine. Happy grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dillman and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Wardle. Mrs. Dillman was in Maryland for the happy event. It has been reported that Pvt. Robert Madsen, who is serving with the U. S. armed forces near Munich, Germany, is on the main basketball team. His team has played two games so far. Mrs. Madsen is the former Dorothy Dor-othy Wardle, and is residing in Roosevelt with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Wadle, while her husband is overseas. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Harm-ston Harm-ston were business visitors in Salt Lake City, Wednesday. Mrs. Lula Mullins accompanied accompan-ied her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Max Mullins, to Salt Lake City. The latter were enroute to California, but Mrs. Mullins had to remain in Salt Lake City a week because of illness. Dr. and Mrs. Paul Stringham were visitors in Salt Lake City, Wednesday. Mrs. David M. Wilkerson returned re-turned from Salt Lake City Monday and reports that her husband is improving after an operation following an accident. He is in the LDS hospital. Sam Weiss and son, Dick, were visitors in Salt Lake City Sunday and Monday. Mr: and Mrs. Ed Solmonson, who have spent the past few months in Quincy, Washington, were here recently making plans to move to Washington permanently. Salt Lake City visitors from Saturday to Monday were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Montgomery and children. Visitors at the Horace Allred home last weekend were Mrs. Allred's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Morrel Robins, Rob-ins, of Salina, and an aunt, Mrs. Lucy Gudmunsen, of Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Omni Winterton attended a M & M dealers meeting meet-ing and banquet in Denver several sev-eral days last week. Mr. Winterton is now in Red Bluff, Calif., attending the stock show and sale. Lyrad McConkie, accompanied by his sister, Mrs. Dick Bastian, drove to' Price Tuesday for a brief visit .with relatives. Accompanying Ac-companying them back to Roosevelt Roose-velt were their mother, Mrs. Wilford McConkie, and also Mrs. William McConkie, of Vernal. Mrs. Lawrell Jensen made a hurried trip to Salt .Lake City Monday to see her father, Geo. B. Cox, who has been very ill. Mr. Jensen took her in, returning return-ing home that same night. Mrs. Jensen returned home Tuesday. A business visitor this week in Roosevelt was Mrs. Mazel Gardner, of Hollywood. Calif., a former Basin resident. She accompanied Lee Whitlock. Mrs. Gardner moved to California in 1917 and remarked that she was amazed at the improved change in Roosevelt City since she left. Mrs. Alice Lublin, mother of Mrs. Paul Murphy, fell last Thursday, injuring her back. She was taken to the Roosevelt Hospital and later sent to the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. X-rays revealed that a vertebrae in her back was broken. She was released Sunday from the hospital and is now recuperating at .the Murphy home. Dinner guests at the Anthon B. Christensen home Tuesday night were Mr. Clark Allred, of Salt Lake City, state official of the Farmers Home Administration, Administra-tion, and Mrs.. Arthur Bunker, of Springville, Mrs. Christen-sen's Christen-sen's mother. Mrs. Bunker visited her daughter and family Tuesday and Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Gardner and sons, Randy and Dennis, accompanied ac-companied by Paul and LaMar Gardner, spent the weekend in Salt Lake City. 1(June Hardman, of Montwel, was a weekend guest of Caroline Caro-line Cook. Mrs. Clem Labrum and daughter, daugh-ter, Kay, were Salt Lake City visitors from Thursday to Saturday Sat-urday of last week. Clem attended at-tended an oil company meeting on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Arch McKinlay have moved into the Frandsn aoartment for a while. Mrs. McKinlay was a visitor at Richfield Rich-field for a few days, where they 'have been residing. A business visitor in Salt Lake City Tuesday was Stanley Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. LaVere Labrum and sons, Ricky and Michael, left this week for Phoenix, Ariz, where they will visit approximately approxi-mately ten days with Mrs. Lab-rum's Lab-rum's relatives. Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Benson, of Richfield, were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mower, of Roosevelt. A2C Richard Pierson, who was home on a 30-day leave, left for Camp Stoneman, Calif, where he will report for overseas over-seas duty. |
