Show r.i o ci t r; e l l Bettie Mower Gold-Green Ball A Fine Affair Montwel ward's MIA Gold and Green Ball was a big success, Tuesday evening. The theme was "Sweethearts On Parade." The hall was decorated with Valentines and hearts on the walls, with the ward girls' picteusr on the hearts. Hanging from the ceiling were hundreds of little hearts. It was really a beautiful setting. The M. I. A. is to be congratulated on the work they put in on it and the effects of it. The music was furnished by the Reese Timothy orchestra. Speakers at Sacrament meeting Sunday evening were Paul Murphy, Mur-phy, Bert Angus and Duane Call. Mrs. Virvil Blanchard and Mrs. Coleen Blanchard sang a duet, being be-ing accompanied by Karen Woodward. Wood-ward. A couple of . veteranarians from the USAC were at Montwel this week to look at some stock that wasn't doing so good. Sunday evening after Sacrament meeting Mrs. Effie Taylor, president presi-dent of the Primary, and Mrs. Ar-vil Ar-vil Brown put on a film about the Primary Children's Hospital. It was very nice for the children and others to see where their birthday pennies went and what a lot of help a penny can do when put with a few more. So don't forget your birthday pennies pen-nies this year. James Parry was home from Provo this weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Powell accompanied James out to visit their folks. NEW COUNSELORS Mrs. Mary Roberts will be first assistant in the Primary to Mrs. Effie Tayor. She replaces Myrna Mitchell, who is leaving soon Mel-vin Mel-vin Parry will replace Parley Alexander Alex-ander as ward clerk. Deart Hanson, of Salt Lake -City, was a visitor Friday at the James Powell home. James and daughter, Loene, returned to Salt Lake with Dean for the weekend. Rosalee Brown visited at the Ray Searles home in Vernal one day this week. i Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Miller from Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gleaton of Provo, visited the Ray Browns' and., Newt Miller' homes, Sunday. Carol Brown was a weekend guest of Linda Davis at Neola. Rosalee Brown, Enid Brown Sandra Powell, Sharon Shaw and Karen N. Brown visited with Mrs. Ruth Haslem in Bennett one day this week. Mr. and Mrs. Max Nelson took their daughter, Karen, to Salt Lake City - to make her home. Wayne has obtained work there, |
