Is not this reporting about a child's progress a two way pro-close pro-close association with him in the cess? Teachers often have specialized special-ized knowledge of child psychology psycholo-gy and they have their evaluation of the progress the child is making mak-ing in class, but parents have intimate in-timate knowledge of the child which they have gained through home before and after he enters school. If teachers and parents are going to reach their goal of continuous, wholesome growth of the child, they must shoulder their responsibilities toward the child and plan together how best to carry out those responsibilities. One of the best ways for both the teacher and the parents to discover dis-cover ways of accomplishing common com-mon goals is the teacher-parent interview. Next Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 8:00 p.m. in the Roosevelt Elementary Ele-mentary School gym, there will be a meeting held for all parents and teachers to discuss this matter mat-ter of reporting student's progress. We will examine many types of report cards and reporting methods. meth-ods. We will have samples from all over the state. Out of this meeting we hope to arrive at a common understanding on the reporting re-porting system that would be agreeable for parents, teachers and pupils. |
