Show Cecelia Gilbert Daby Swallows Bottle of Aspirins Little Ann Evans, daughter of Mr- and Mrs. Arden Evans, was rushed to the Roosevelt Hospital by her mother and her uncle, Harley Evans, Friday. She had eaten a bottle of baby aspirins, which made her very ill. It was necessary to pump out her stomach and use other emergency treatments to bring quick relief. She is recovering at her home. Mrs- Vera Larsen has been staying at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Poulsen in Duchesne, helping to take care of her new little granddaughter. Rulon Gilbert and Harold Groves went to Provo Wednesday to participate par-ticipate in orientation activities at BYU where they expect to register as Freshmen for the fall quarter. Mr. and Mrs. Max R. Mullins moved in from Salt Lake City to occupy the home being vacated by the Thomas M. Gilbert family. Mr- Mullins will be employed by the Gilbert Dairy. The Gilbert family will make their home on the property vacated early this spring by Mr. and Mrs. John Gilbert Gil-bert and family. i Mrs. Mary Stolle and baby girl, Carrie, are making 'their home with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gilbert. Mrs. Stolle is a first grade teach- er in the Duchesne Elementary school. Mrs. Gilbert will care for the baby during the day. Mrs. Stolle will ride to her school each day with Naomi Gilbert, a teacher at Duchesne High School. Mrs. LeGrand Gilbert and two small sons visited with her family fam-ily in Salt Lake City a few days this week. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Horrocks took their son, Evan, to Salt Lake City Thursday for a medical checkup. Saturday afternoon Mr. Horrocks Hor-rocks attended a postmasters' meeting and banquet at the Grill in Roosevelt. The county road building equipment equip-ment is busy hauling gravel from the hill by Arch Larsen's place to repair and surface some of the roads in Arcadia and vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. Hale Holgate spent the weekend in Salt Lake City. Thomas M.. Gilbert spent Saturday Sat-urday in Duchesne on business. Mr. and Mrs. Burthel Mayhew and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Brady of Utahn, representatives of the stake Sunday School board, visited the Arcadia ward Sunday School. The Era drive ward committee spent Sunday afternoon soliciting subscriptions for the Improvement Era. Mr. and Mrs. Max Mullins and children and Martha and Mildred Gilbert, gathered pine nuts at Fruitland Sunday-Thomas Sunday-Thomas Larsen and sister, Donna, Don-na, of Quincy, Washington, also Carol Larsen of Arcadia, visited at the Thomas M. Gilbert home Friday evening. Donna will enroll at the USAC in Logan, where she will continue her studies. Thomas will enter the U.S. Military Service Ser-vice at an early date. Hugh Evans left for Provo Sunday. Sun-day. He will continue his studies at the BYU. Stake Patriarch and Mrs. Levi J.. Anderton of Duchesne, Neill Jensen, also of Duchesne, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Shields and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin G. Shields of Roosevelt Roose-velt were visitors at Sacrament meeting Sunday evening. |
