Show Church News LEADERSHIP MEETING Moon Lake stake Sunday School Leadership meeting was held in the Mt. Emmons ward Sunday, with Stake Pres. William Brother-son Brother-son presiding, and Stake Supt. Wm. Emmans conducting. Pres. Brotherson encouraged better attendance at-tendance and stressed the responsibility respon-sibility of teachers of the youth of the church. June Harmon, stake librarian, gave a report on the beginning of libraries in the stake. Mrs. Lila Farnsworth, stake secretary, secre-tary, reported on financial progress. pro-gress. Our goal next month is for better attendance. MIA CONFERENCE MIA conference was held in the Mt. Emmons ward, Sept. 25. Man- ual Counselor Florence Mohlman conducted with Rosevelle Ames as narrator. Chad Hansen, of the Scout group, gave a talk on David, the Shepherd boy, followed by a vocal solo by Lial Gomm, "A Mormon Boy," accompanied by Mrs. Edna Hartman. Mrs. Eva Bentley spoke, representing the Gleaner class, after which Grant and Sybil Peel sang a duet, "An Angel From On High." Wilson Heaten spoke, representing the returned re-turned missionaries. The music was under the direction of Ruth and Carolyn Dastrup. Closing remarks re-marks were given by Bishop Mecham and the closing song, "My Task," was sung by Mrs. Norma Hansen. NO SUNDAY MEETINGS Sunday School and Sacrament meeting will, not be held this week end at Mt. Emmons due to semiannual semi-annual conference in Salt Lake City. Everyone is encouraged to listen to conference over their radios. Sunday, Sept. 25, Bishop Willard Mecham blessed his baby daughter daugh-ter and gave her the name of La-Deane La-Deane Kay Mecham. He also confirmed con-firmed his son, Edward Bovee, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. PREPARATION MEETING Mt. Emmons ward Primary Preparation Pre-paration meeting was held in the home of Rhea Lambert, first counselor coun-selor Sept. 23. President Pearl Orr conducted and Norma Hansen, 2nd counselor, gave the In Service Training lesson. New teachers were acquainted with their material. mater-ial. Members of the ward Primary staff are: Vista Wall, secretary-Shirley secretary-Shirley McConkie, organist; Connie Con-nie Fieldsted, Seagull' teacher; Dottie Farnsworth, Bluebirds; Edna Ed-na Evans, Guides; Fern Powell, Trekkers; Sybil Peel, Blazers; Margaret Timothy, Top Pilots;. Bessie Bes-sie Hanberg, Co-Pilots; Gwen Chapman, Co-Pilots; Zola Hanberg, Group II; Sherry Hartman, Group I; and Lavend Powell, Cradle class. Curtis Dastrup and his mother, Ruth Dastrup, went to Ogden, Friday, prior to his entering the BYU, where they visited her mother, moth-er, Mrs. F. W. Bench. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Heaten returned re-turned to Altamont for a visit with their sons. Mr. Heaten is employed em-ployed at the Kennecot Copper mines. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Benson, of Grantsville, were Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Lambert. Mr. Benson is a brother of Mrs. Lambert. MATINEE DANCE The 6th period at Altamont High, Friday, was devoted to a matinee dance. This was a complete com-plete surprise to the student body. The surprise dance was called after ag teacher, LaVer Bentley, left with his FFA boys for Salt Lake City. Principal Rondo Harmon attended attend-ed a secondary principals' conference, confer-ence, which was held in Salt Lake last Thursday. . Zola Hanberg and Sybil Peel went to Provo for fruit and on business during the week. Altamont and Mt. Emmons wish to welcome 8-year-old Richard Basses from Frazer, Montana, who has entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Ames. We also welcome Joe Silversmith from Lutton, Ariz.
