Show Mr. and Mrs. Phil Pack and'' family spent last weekend in Tre-monton Tre-monton where they attended a family reunion, held prior to Mr. and Mrs. Clifton G. M. Kerr leaving leav-ing for England, where they have been called to preside over the British LDS mission. Before returning re-turning home, the Packs visited in Logan with Mrs. Pack's mother. Mrs. Catherine Watkins. Ray E. Dillman left Monday morning to accompany a group of men from throughout the state on a trip to Alaska as guests of the Military of the United States. Exact Ex-act details of the trip were not available. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley R. Dicker-son Dicker-son and family attended the Utah State Fair, taking in the Ice Follies Fol-lies while there. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Weiss returned re-turned to Roosevelt, Saturday after af-ter spending a week in Salt Lake City. Their son, Dick, is a freshman fresh-man student at the University of Utah. Mrs. H. Beck and son, Johnnie, returned to ther home in St. Louis, Missouri, after visiting with the C. M. Rowley family for two I weeks. Mrs. Anthon B. Christensen was taken to the Roosevelt Hospital last Thursday morning for medical medi-cal treatment. She is reported to be improving. Visitors at the Christensen home last week were: Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bunker and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bunker of Delta, lUtah. Both are brothers of Mrs. Christensen and took Cindy Christensen Chris-tensen home with them for a brief stay. Other visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Norton of Springville. The latter is Mrs. Christensen's sister. A guest at the E. J. Nixon residence resi-dence is Mrs. Caroline McDonald, of El Paso, Texas, Jack Nixon's mother-in-law. Before returning to Texas, she will visit the Jack Nixons, who are residing in Provo, where Jack is a junior student at the BYU. Miss Dorothy Dean Nixon has enrolled as a senior student at the BYU, where she is majoring in secretary training. Roy Hall left Monday for Salt Lake City to receive medical care. Mr. and Mrs. Mirl Jennings are now residing in Neola, where they will remain for a few months before be-fore moving into the Floyd Ross home, which they recently purchased. pur-chased. The Ross family is planning plan-ning to make their home in Parker, Park-er, Arizona. Coach and Mrs. Ted Heath are renting the Jennings home. George Taylor drove to Price last Sunday to get his mother, Mrs. Elon Taylor, who will make her home in Roosevelt. She is residing re-siding in one of the Brough apartments. apart-ments. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Preece returned re-turned last Thursday from a two-week two-week trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, where they visited with their son, Bill Preece, and family. Accompanying them to Roosevelt Roose-velt were their daughter, Mrs. Henry Van Doorne and son, Mark, who had been visiting in California Califor-nia with Mr. Van Doornes' parents. Mr. Van Doorne will attend officers offi-cers training school at Benning, Georgia for six months. His wife and son will remain in Roosevelt during that time they are at home at the Dillman Apartments. Weekend guests at the John Swenson home were Mrs. Swen-son's Swen-son's mother, Mrs. Zelma Bear-dall Bear-dall and son, Paul, of Springville. Billy McLea, who has spent the summer in California, enjoyed last weekend with his parents, the J. V. McLeas, before leaving to enroll en-roll at the USAC, where he is a junior student. Mayor and Mrs. Paul Murphy returned last Sunday evening after af-ter spending the weekend at the Utah State Fair with their children. ATTEND RELIEF SOCIETY CONVENTION A group of Relief Society board members of the Roosevelt stake left Wednesday morning to attend the Relief Society- General' Conference, Con-ference, scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. Those who left for the two-day meetings were Mrs. E. J. Nixon, stake Relief Society president; Mrs. Wilmer Murray and Mrs. J. V. Freston, counselors; Mrs. Jesse Allen, Mrs. Nathan Allen, Mrs. Harold Eldredge and Mrs. Joseph Duncan, board members. Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Luke and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Chidester were called to Salt Lake City last Friday, due to the illness of Mrs. Clara C. Brinkerhoff, mother of Mrs. Luke and Mrs. Chidester. She suffered a slight stroke, and was to be released Monday from the LDS Hospital. The Lukes are expecting their daughter and son-in-law and two children from Tomagawk, Wiscon, sin, Saturday. They plan to remain for a week's visit. Mrs. Ray E. Dillman, Mr. and Mrs. Finley Pearce, Miss Erma Eldredge and Brett Eldredge left Wednesday morning to enjoy an overnight trip at the Dillman cabin in Uinta Canyon. |
