Show Hi-Land Breaks Milk Deal With Safeways After fifteen years as a supplier of milk to the Lucerne milk plant, a subsidiary of Safeway, Inc., the board of directors of the Hi-Land Dairymen's Assn., voted recently to discontinue supplying milk to the large grocery chain. According to a news letter released re-leased Sept. 25 by Hi-Land (from which the following quotation was taken) "it was the consensus of opinion among board members that Hi-Land would have little advantage ad-vantage or future in the role of a supplier of milk to Safeway. In the past, it has worked out that Hi-Land has received less in payment pay-ment from Safeways than they have paid its producers, whose milk went to Safeways." |
