Show Main Street Ceresiiany To WmA Its Corap!etion Bargain Days Are Part Of Weekend Project Roosevelt's newly paved Main Street will, be officially accepted from the State of Utah next Friday, Fri-day, Oct. 7, when representatives of the road commission will come here to participate in a special ceremony being planned. A special' spe-cial' merchants' promotion will also mark the important happening. According to W. S.' Murdock, president of the Chamber of Commerce, Com-merce, a committee is being set up and will be headed by Wesley R. Dickerson as chairman, to plan an appropriate program and ceremony cere-mony marking the completion of rebuilding and paving the entire Main Street from the Utah Oil bulk plant on the south to the corner of Second North and west on the Neola Highway to Second West. Details of the ceremony are being worked out with present plans being to have the official ribbon cutting " ceremony slated for some time on Friday, perhaps about noon. Bands will be on hand from the local schools, and a promise has come from the road department that one of the commission com-mission members will be present to make the presentation to Roosevelt City. Merchants' Promotion Originally the retail merchants committee, which is headed by K. D. Morgan, had announced a special spe-cial bargain days promotion program pro-gram for this weekend. However, when it was revealed by District Engineer Rex Hickman that the entire paving job would not be completed before Saturday at least, the committee voted to postpone post-pone the promotion until next weekend. Roosevelt's merchants are going all out to offer a host of bargains to their patrons and it- will' be known as "New Main Street Merchants' Days." Special plans are going forward to make this an event to be remembered in Roosevelt City, and the Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce, along with city officials, extend a broad invitation to all. to attend the ceremony and special promotion.
