Show Record Number Of Entries Recorded h 6iy Fair h Livestock Division A record number of entries were exhibited in the Livestock Division at the Duchesne County Fair, Sept. 1-2-3, reports Mont Poulson of Duchesne, supervisor for this division. Records for the exhibits, 'written by Milton Poulson, fair board secretary, showed a total of 129 exhibits, were entered at the fair, excluding the poultry. These 129 exhibits included 33 in the dairy division, 16 swine, 36 breed sheep, 21 fat lambs, 9 breed beef cattle, 8 feeder cattle and 6 fat steers. S.O.S. Sounded An S.O.S. is being signaled by the county fair workers for more exhibits next year in the rabbits and poultry division. Only five rabbits and one rooster were exhibited ex-hibited this year at the fair. Grand Champions Grand champions adjudged at the 1955 Duchesne County Fair are listed by Milton Poulson secretary sec-retary of the fair board. In the dairy division, Lonnie Carlile of Tabiona, entered the Holstein cow adjudged grand champion female. This was the 1952 4-H Dairy Heifer awarded by the Roosevelt Kiwani.s Club to an outstanding 4-H Club boy of Duchesne Du-chesne County. No males were exhibited ex-hibited in the dairy division. Beef Division Beef division grand champions are listed as: Male and female, Herefords, exhibited by young Jerry Merkley, Duchesne; fat steer, Hereford, exhibited by Baird Evans, Ev-ans, Arcadia;, feeder calf, Fred Evans, Arcadia, 1st place (no grand champion award given.) Breed Sheep Division Grand champions are listed as: male, Scott Murdock, Roosevelt Suffolk; female, Allen Moon, Duchesne, Hampshire. Fat Lambs Division Grand champions are listed as: exhibit by Larry Wilcken, Hanna; reserve champion, exhibit by Scott Murdock, Mur-dock, Roosevelt. Hogs Division Grand champions cham-pions are listed as: female, Larry Hartman, Mt. Emmons, Duroc-Jersey; Duroc-Jersey; fat hog, Laird Evans, Arcadia. |
