Show Jean Redmond Is First Girl To Get Eliwanis Award Jean Redmond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walt Redmond, of North Myton Bench, was awarded the 4-H dairy heifer, which is presented pre-sented annually to an outstanding boy or girl 4-H Club member in Duchesne County by the Roosevelt Roose-velt Kiwanis Club. She is the first girl to cop the award. Four other calves have been presented to boy 4-H'ers s.ince the project was begun. be-gun. The calf, which comes from the Ken Carlile dairy herd in Tabiona, was presented Friday afternoon by Cliff Memmott, past president of the Roosevelt Club. The project was first started by the local service ser-vice club in 1951 and has continued contin-ued through five consecutive years.. Each winner is expected to display his calf for three consecutive consecu-tive years at the Duchesne County Fair, and is obligated to give the Kiwanis Club the first heifer calf born to his project heifer. Other winners were John Percival, Ioka, 1951; Lonnie Carlile, Tabiona, 1952; NewelJ Richens, Myton, 1953 and Douglas Holgate, 1954. |
