Stevens, Roosevelt, was only slightly bruised, but his Dodge truck sustained damage of about $400 Saturday morning when the truck left the highway after Mr. Stevens had jumped out when he discovered his brakes would not work. The truck was going downward on the first hill between Myton and Roosevelt at a high rate of speed, when the brakes refused to function. Mr. Stevens said he ditched the truck to prevent it from hitting a vehicle coming from the opposite direction. He was hauling a load of sand to the Myton pump station when the accident occurred. Father Wendell Leutmer, for seven years rector of St. Helen's Catholic Church, Roosevelt, has been recalled by the Father Abbott of the Benedictine order, and left Monday to assume his duties as prior of a Kentucky monastery.
