Show EUds Day Boasts Parade Pet Shoiv, Bougnut Sale An early morning doughnut sale" Saturday will kick off the Kiwanis Club Kids Day activities in Roosevelt, Roose-velt, according to Arvin Bellon, chairman of the Club's boy's and girls committee. Club members and youngsters will make a house-to-house campaign cam-paign from 7 to 8 a.m. in the fourth of a series of doughnut sales designed to raise money for Kiwanis child welfare programs. A colorful nursey rhyme parade, a pet show and a movie for the kids will make up Kids Day activities. ac-tivities. Youngsters decked out in costumes cos-tumes or on decorated bicycles or wagons, representing nursery rhyme themes, will assemble at the elementary school for the parade beginning at 10 a.m. First, second and third prizes will be given for the best nursery rhyme theme in the parade, plus a prize for the best-decorated bicycle. The parade will go from the school east to , main street and then proceed to First North St., and west to the City park for the pet show. Every child entering a pet in the show will receive a prize and a grand prize will be given for the outstanding pet. After the pet show, parade and pet show winners will be announced announc-ed and prizes will be awarded. Park activities will end with the serving of free ice cream and soda pop. Children will then go to the Roosevelt theatre at 12:30 p.m. for a free movie as guests of owner, Leland Stevenson. .Serving with Mr. Bellon on the boys and girls committee are Keith Todd and Axel Anderson. |
