Show . . , Attention, Deer Hunters! Contest Is Open Mr. Deer Hunter, if you anticipate antici-pate getting a big deer and would like to have it pay your way on the hunt then you had better get your ticket in the second "Giant Jackpot" of the Basin. Last year's contest attracted 330 hunters, who each chipped in $1.00 to the Jackpot, with the winners splitting the pot. Last year's winners win-ners were James E. Lenartz from Bonanza and Steve Malnar, Neola. The "Giant Jackpot" is a contest con-test sponsored by the local merchants mer-chants and can be entered by anyone any-one posessing a Utah - Big Game license. The Jackpot is built up by each hunter purchasing a ticket for $1.00, which, goes into the Jackpot with the winners being determined at the end of the season by the heaviest deer and the widest spread. The contest is being sponsored by the following businesses, each having tickets to enter you in the contest: Leslie Ashton and Sons, Drollinger Furntiure, Huish Drug, Harmston Supply, Christen-sen's, Christen-sen's, Uintah Farmers' Station, L. and L. Motor, Leavitt Equipment, Steve and Ned's Cafe, Miller Supply, Sup-ply, Bradshaw Auto Parts, Cash Meat Market, E. A Call Service, Crumbo Motor, Frontier Grill Cafe, Sprouse Reitz Co., Inc., Stoddard Hardware, Pink's Lockers, Tony's Service, Modern Drug and The Roosevelt Standard. It is recommended that all interested in-terested participants read the rules carefully that are printed on the full page ad and also placed in the business houses and check the check-in places so that there will not be any misunderstandings. These rules will be held to the letter let-ter and no information will be given giv-en out concerning the weight nor spread measurments of any other contestant's deer. The contest will run from Oct. 20 and will continue until the hunt that ends Nov. 4. The sale of tickets will cease at 6:00 pm, Friday, Oct. 19, 1956. After this date tickets may be purchased by presenting your license and deer tag along with your $1.00 at the Roosevelt Standard. . Winners will be named shortly after the contest ends and will be published in the Standard Nov. 15. |
