Show Arrives In Japan On Way To Korea W. A. Jennings has received a letter from his son, Pvt. Richard Rich-ard Jennings, that he left the U. S. July 14 and arrived in Japan July 28, one of a ship load of 2000 men being sent to Korea as replacement troops. He found the sea trip a very hot and sultry voyage, which made it necessary to sleep any place on deck that space could be found as the bunks below were too hot to permit sleep. He expected to be in Seoul, Korea, by August 3 and to be advanced to the front by plane and by jeep. Among those from Myton who attended the bridal shower at Bridgeland, Thursday, honoring Mrs. Buddy Wardle, formerly Miss Mary Shelton, were Mrs. Ole Peterson, Mrs. Alden Fenn, Miss Cherry Dennis, Mrs. Lynn Dean and Mrs. Glen Wardle, of Salt Lake City, mother of the groom. Mrs. Wardle has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Wall, of Jamestown, Kansas, who were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Robinson, left last week to return to their home. Mrs. W. E. Burton returned Friday from a ten-day visit in Midvale. Her daughters, Mrs. Bernard Biltz, of Midvale, and Mrs. Glen Kearny, of Portland, Oregon, brought her home and spent a few hours here before returning to Midvale. Homer Robinson, who' has been receiving medical attention in Salt Lake City, was sufficiently sufficient-ly improved to be returned home Thursday. His son, William, Wil-liam, brought him home and remained for a short visit. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hart, of Duchesne, spent Friday with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish. Announcement has been received re-ceived of the arrival of a son, born July 27, to Mr. and Mrs. i . Chris Goris in Salt Lake City. The young mother, formerly Genele Smith, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Smith. Pvt. Doyle Lisonbee, who recently re-cently left to enter service in the U. S. Army, is now stationed station-ed at Fort Lewis, Washington, arrordine td a letter received by his mother, Mrs. Lena Lisonbee. Lison-bee. He will receive his assignment assign-ment in a short time. Mrs. Lydia Peatross returned Saturday from Salt Lake City, where she had spent a week with relatives. Mrs. Guy Taylor returned Saturday Sat-urday from Pleasant Grove, where she was called by the illness ill-ness of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Thompson, who suffered severe injuries in an automobile accident acci-dent last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Thompson brought her horn?1 and returned Sunday to take Mr. Taylo.r to Flsasant Grove. He will spend a week there to be with his daughter who :3 slowly recovering from her injuries. in-juries. Fern Clark and Ruth Adams, who enjoyed a week in Uinta canyon with the Vacation Bible School, returned home Saturday. Satur-day. Mrs. Lena Lisonbee. Mrs. W. R. Harris, Mrs Denzel Hemphill Hemp-hill and Bob Hemphill, members of the Wm. R. Sands Post and Unit 5 of Myton, attended the American Legion and Auxiliary party sponsored by the Toyack Post and Unit at Altonah, Friday Fri-day evening. INJURES ARM Frank Cooper, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Cooper, of Salt Lake City, suffered a fractured arm Sunday when thrown from a horse. The youngster, who is visiting vis-iting his grandmother. Mrs. Frank Bowden, is getting along nicely. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Schuckers and daughter, Sally,, enjoyed a week-end in Colorado, where they were members of a fishing party on White river, near Meeker, Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Wendall Workman Work-man and family came from Lay-ton, Lay-ton, Utah, Sunday, to spend a few days with Mrs. Workman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Robinson. Faye Robinson, who has been visiting in Salt Lake City, came home with them. Their son, Douglas, will remain for a longer visit. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Lott and children left Sunday on a vacation vaca-tion trip through the Parks of southern Utah. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Linck and daughter, Margo, left Sunday Sun-day on a business and pleasure trip to California. Mrs. W. H. Koehler, of Vernal, Vern-al, is a visitor at the home of Mrs. Bliss Lott, arriving Sunday. Mrs. Carlos Clark returned Saturday from a visit to American Ameri-can Fork and Pleasant Grove, where she spent a week with Mrs. Alice Ball and Mr. and Mrs. Seth Campbell and family, fam-ily, nieces and nephew of Mr. Clark, former Myton residents. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Rogers, of American Fork, brought Mrs. Clark home and remained here for a week end visit. Robert Wells, who was seriously ser-iously injured in an accident near Rangely, Colorado, several weeks ago, visited his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Harris, Monday. He was returning from Salt Lake City, where he had received a medical med-ical check-up. He re-entered the hospital at Rangely, where he is still under treatment. |
