Show Baptist History Made At Uinta Canyon Camp Site History was made at the recent re-cent Utah Southern Baptist encampment en-campment held in Uinta canyon can-yon from July 30 to Aug. 4, when 173 persons from Artesia, Vernal, Salt Lake City, Clearfield, Clear-field, Dragerton and Ogden, registered reg-istered and spent some time in the camp. This amount does not include 28 visitors. This is by far the largest enrollment in its history. According to Rev. Charles Ray this is the largest enrollment in the state's history, which is attributed at-tributed to the establishment of new churches. All Utah Baptist Bap-tist churches cooperated in sponsoring spon-soring the encampment. A committee was appointed, consisting of George Williams. Provo pastor; John L. Smith, Clearfield minister; and Ira Marks, Salt Lake missionary, to study various sites and rec-iommend rec-iommend a place for a permanent perman-ent camp.
