Show CLIFF MEMMOTT, Edilor 1 ncrVELT CITIZENRY SOON TO VOTE IN ' -jVOR. OR AGAINST, ADDITIONAL WATER In exactly twenty days qualified voters and taxpayers I Roosevelt city will have a chance to approve a proposed diture 0 $225,000 to increase and supplement the preset pres-et water supply used for domestic purposes. : On August 21 a special bond election is being held Ihe city to give Roosevelt citizenry an opportunity to Irove, or disapprove bonding the city for $225,000 with -tiich to lay an approximate eight-mile pipeline and to instruct a storage reservoir to transport and store additional ad-ditional water for use within the city limits. In the past two issues of the Standard and in this ue legal notices have appeared that tell how the money Jju'be repaid and for what purpose it will be used. To- jjy's Standard contains a letter written by the Caldwell-'ichards Caldwell-'ichards and Sorenson engineering firm of Salt Lake City, jhich has been retained by the city to study the needs, ike recommendations and direct construction if the people peo-ple vote to expand the water system. I would like to urge :very resident of Roosevelt to read the very informative :;ter, which is most comprehensive in its discussion of e proposed source of the additional water, and the conations con-ations under which the city now gets its ' supply. I'd like to ask one question, which I most earnestly Tge every "mature man or woman in the City of Roos-velt Roos-velt to answer honestly " and without too much qualif i-jtion i-jtion Is Roosevelt city's water supply adequate for its .eeds, and do you enjoy the type of water you get from our tap, especially during the spring, summer and fall? If you can honestly answer this question with an affirmative af-firmative "Yes," then I'd suggest you vote "No" on the proration. pro-ration. However, if you agree with your city officials that Roosevelt's water is not only very poor in quality, but wholely inadequate for the future needs of the city, then for the sake of the future of the city and your own pleasures, vote a positive "Y-E-S!" Much more will be said through the columns of the Roosevelt Standard regarding this great problem in the next few weeks. Now, I'd like to suggest that you read care-lully care-lully the letter written over the signature of Engineer A. H. Sorenson found elsewhere in this issue, then peer into the future and anticipate how Roosevelt could grow if wuditions were favorable for progress. v -' v E v ' iitry moment, the present is becoming the past and j l en if becomes the past there is nothing more we can I ii about it.
