Show Businessmen Will Meet Aug. 16 To Hear Committee Next Thursday, Aug. 16, has been set definitely as the date when Roosevelt business and professional men will meet to hear a report from a committee appointed to study the possibility possibil-ity of organizing a Chamber of Commerce for this city. Since the committee was set up at . a dinner-meeting held early in July, they, have studied very carefully the many phases of a promotional organization for Roosevelt. They have had access to by-laws and articles of incorporation of other like groups and are ready to propose that this area is ready for a Chamber of Commerce. Members Mem-bers of the committee are Cliff Memmott, chairman, E. J. Nixon, Nix-on, L. L. Pack, Howard Harm-ston, Harm-ston, Albert Harris, J. V. Mc--Lea, and Paul Murphy, secretary. secre-tary. To more thoroughly instruct the local businessmen and their employees, who are invited to the meeting, a large delegation of Price Chamber of Commerce members, headed by George Pat-ternick, Pat-ternick, president, is coming to Roosevelt to meet with the group. One of the delegation will be called on to deliver a key-note address, and . the remainder re-mainder will answer questions that might arise. Mr. McLea, who was selected as the temporary chairman of the last meeting, will again preside pre-side over the Aug 16 meeting, which will be held at 8 p. m. at the Roosevelt L.D.S. stake house, and all Roosevelt business houses and professional offices, including schools, are urged to have full representation of their institutions present. |
