Show This Week's RECIPE . . . For a very nourishing, economical eco-nomical and tasty meal, try the following Hamburger Scallop, a - one-dish meal which is especially es-pecially good this time of year i as it calls for fresh tomatoes. I This is a favorite recipe of Mrs. Howard Ivory. Hamburger Scallop 2 tbs. fat 2 green peppers, chopped V tsp. salt Vz tsp. pepper 1 lb. hamburger 2 cups kernel corn 4 medium tomatoes V'2 cup dry bread crumbs Melt fat in frying pan. Add chopped peppers and onions. Cook three minutes. Add meat and blend. Remove from stove and season with salt and pepper. Put one cup corn in baking dish, half of meat mixture and layer of sliced tomatoes. Repeat with a layer of corn, meat and tomatoes. Cover with crumbs and dot with butter, Bake uncovered 35 minutes at 375 degrees. i |
