Show Indian Girl Died Naturally Is Doctor's Report Death of a 20-year-old Indian girl, found unconscious on the side of the Whiterocks road last Friday, Fri-day, March 23, and' who died at home at 5 a.m., was due to natural natur-al causes. This was the opinion of a doctor at Fort Duchesne who perforced an autopsy on the young Indian woman's body Friday. He said she died of aspiration pneumonia. Miss Apputonora was found unconscious un-conscious on the road between Whiterocks and Neola early' Friday. Fri-day. She was taken to her home where her mother reported she died about 5 a.m. She left her home in Whiterocks about 9:30 p.m. Thursday and went to Neola where she reportedly was seen in a beer tavern. She is believed be-lieved to have left Neola about 11:30 p.m. Found At 2:00 A.M. Miss Apputonora was found about 2 a.m. on the road between Whiterocks and Neola, near the Indian Sun Dance ground, by Frank LaRose and Morgan Twitch-eiJ. Twitch-eiJ. They took her home where' she died three hours later without regaining re-gaining consciousness, Mr. Carter said. An investigation by Mr. Carter, Car-ter, Uintah County Sheriff Herb Snyder and Pamp Harris, chief of the Indian Police will continue. She was bom April 1, 1935, at Fort Duchesne to Bart and Inez Apporas Apputonora. Survivors include in-clude her mother; step-father, Lewis Loney; two brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Fontella Corn-peach, Corn-peach, Gene, Drucilla and Lyman, all of Whiterocks. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Whiterocks Episcopal church, with burial, being be-ing in the Ft. Duchesne cemetery. |
