J. Baker, a well known former for-mer resident of Roosevelt, and Louis Laris, a local livestock man, have organized the firm of Baker and Laris. This new concern will be agents for the Steel Craft, pre fabricated steel garage in the Uintah Uin-tah Basm with headquarters at Roosevelt. F S. Musser, an early resident of the Uintah Basin, has sold his farm interests near Myton to Wm Hatch of Salt Lake City. One of the original pioneers of the Basin Mr. Musser came here in 1905 and settled on a homestead in 1907. Persons in attendance at the mass meeting held in the Elementary Elemen-tary School gym on Wednesday night to discuss the pending Union Un-ion High School bill were advised to immediately contact Utah's congressional delegation and urge passage of the bill. Of interest to his many friends is the announcement of the marriage mar-riage of Clarence Redmond, son of Mr, and Mrs. John S. Redmond of Roosevelt, to Ruth Roberts of Clayton, New Mexico, in a double ring ceremony performed by Wayne Douglas, pastor of the Methodist church in Clayton. 20 YEARS AGO Madge Jacobs of Roosevelt will accompany the Brigham Young University debating team to Red-lands, Red-lands, Calif., where they will debate de-bate in the annual Psi Kappa Delta Del-ta invitational debate tournament at the University of Redlands on March 19, 20 and 21. Monday the management of the new Onyx Hotel and Cafe threw open the doors of their much enlarged en-larged and improved sleeping and dining quarters and held open house serving free coffee and beer to all guests and visitors. Friday will conclude a week of activity for members of the Business Busi-ness and Professional Women's Club of Roosevelt, which was planned in observance of national Business and Professional Women's Wom-en's week from March 15th to March 21st. During this week the club sponsored spon-sored a contest on the subject, sub-ject, "If I Were Mayor or City Manager." Beth Fredrickson submitted sub-mitted the winning essay and will be awarded a prize' of $5.00 at a banquet to be held Friday evening at the Onyx HoteL |
