Show Uintah Wool Pool Seeks Local Farmers' Support An attempt is being made by officials of-ficials of the Uintah County Wool Pool to get more farmers of the Basin who own sheep, to include their fleeces in the pool this year. A personal contact is made by Earl Mecham, secretary of the Uintah group, who made available some information as to how wool growers grow-ers last year fared in the pool. "Our people last year averaged over 10c per pound more for their wool than those who sold to other buyers," Mr. Mecham said Tuesday. There were 71,492 pounds of wool in the pool, with a net price per cwt. of $56.65 after the incentive payment of $9.45 had been added. This brought a total of $40,489.24 into the pockets of the producers of wool in the area. |
