Show Ethel Beebe DUP Has Meeting The DUP held their meeting for March at the home of Mrs. Verna Allred. There was no lesson given, the afternoon being spent filling out their registration papers. A delicious lunch was served' to Mrs. Grace Giles and another lady from Tabiona, Mrs. Olive Miles and Mrs. Clark Young of Mt. Emmons, Mrs. Lola Jones, Mrs. Margaret Maxfield, Mrs. LaRue Fisher, Mrs. Mary Dump, Mrs. Jean Lambert, Mrs. Helen Palm and the hostess. Mrs. Bert Fowler and Mrs. Floyd Weeks and baby, who left for Los Angeles to make their home,, came back to stay here until school is out. Then Mr. Fowler and son, Don will return to California with them. Floyd' Weeks is employed in an airplane factory in California. Califor-nia. Mr. and Mrs. Glade Timothy and family of Provo spent the weekend week-end with relative's here. Jim Timothy Tim-othy j returned home with them after spending a week', in Provo. Kathryn, Debra and Mike Ber-rett, Ber-rett, children of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Berrett, Jr. of Roosevelt, stayed with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Powell, Saturday, while their parents attended the' basketball games in Provo last week. Mr. and Mrs. Grant McDonald and family of Sunnyside, were guests during the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. E. Clark. They also spent some -time with Mrs. McDonald's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Anderson at Alta-mont. Alta-mont. LaVar Morris brought his wife and new son home from the Roosevelt Roos-evelt Hospital March 15. The baby was born March 10. Word has been received of the birth of a son, March 16 to Mr. and Mrs. Leo Page of Kamas. The Pages are former residents of Altonah. This makes 3 boys and 6 girls for the Pages. Ted Snyder of Tooele brought his mother, Mrs. Elva Snyder, home March 17. She had been on a trip to China Lake, Calif., where she attended the wedding bf her granddaughter, Luzon Snyder, on March 10, and the dedication of the new LDS Temple in Los An-, geles. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hyatt and son of Salt Lake' City spent the weekend with Ray's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chubb Reay'. Mrs. Dallas Ames is employed at the Medical Center in Duchesne. Mrs. Helen Palm took Mrs. Elva El-va Snyder to Duchesne March 20 for medical care. Mr. and' Mrs. Jim Richards and family of Artesia, Colo, were overnight over-night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Olsen, Friday. The Olsens returned to Artesia with them Saturday, returning home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry. Clark of Vernal visited their son-in-law and daughter,- Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Powell and Mrs. Clark's brother, Jim Timothy, during the week. Miss Florence Weeks, who is employed in Salt Lake City spent the weekend at home with her folks. Her sister, Ruby, returned to Salt Lake with her Sunday' for a visit and to do some shopping SIXTH BIRTHDAY PARTY Mrs. Dru Allred gave a party March 21 in honor of her daughter, daugh-ter, Christine's 6th birthday anniversary. anni-versary. The guests present were, Darlene Reay, Denny Bearden, Joy and Maurine Shiner, Joan and Vickie Murray, Mark and' Laurrine Palm, Betty and Rickie Nielsen, Sandy Kolb, Marilyn Carroll, Jimmy Jim-my Burson, Tommy Allred, Claud-ine Claud-ine Mitchell and Pam Williams. Games and refreshments were' enjoyed en-joyed by' the group. Claude Murray, George Fisher, Jr. Clenty Ames and Dennie Ralphs attended a Hi-Land milk producers meeting in Salt Lake City March 20. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rochell,. Mr. and Mrs. Dru Allred attended the funeral of Duane Oberhansly at Whiterocks March 20. Mrs. Murial Kolb of Altamont accom panied them. Mr. and Mrs. Colin Nielsen went to Salt Lake City Saturday to ' attend the wedding of Colin's sister, Twila Nielsen. E. A. Call and son, Eric, of Roosevelt visited their daughter and sister, Mrs. Reay Jessen and family March 19. Max Hartman of Mt. Emmons called at the Gilbert Beebe farm Friday, March 23. Jim Timothy returned to Provo March 18 with his son, Glade and family for a week's visit. Fenton Powell, son, Ronald, and David Hislop went to Salt Lake City ' Friday' to spend the' weekend. week-end. Mrs. Florence Jessen, daughter, Bonnie and granddaughter, Maxie Stevenson and Mrs. Minnie Reay spent the weekend of March 23 in Salt Lake City with Mrs. Minnie Lou Stevenson and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Potts and daughters of Duchesne came up March 23 to spend the weekend with Mrs. Potts' mother, Mrs. El.-va El.-va Snyder. Mrs. Beth Jessen and sons, Lee and Scott went to Price Monday to visit relatives. Vic Brown of Roosevelt was in town on business March 23. Garry Jessen, who is employed in Orem, was home over the weekend. week-end. Mrs. Thora Liddell of Roosevelt and Mrs. Virginia Smith of Myton called at the home tf Mrs. Lid-dell's Lid-dell's sister, Mrs. Mary Powell, Friday afternoon. Mrs. E. A. Call and sons, Lee and Lynn of Roosevelt were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Dew-ey Jessen, March 22. Mr. and Mrs. George Murray and family, who have been living in the Glade Timothy house, moved to Roosevelt during the week. A number of people from Altonah Alton-ah attended the Rural Education conference at Altamont Friday, March 23. Hardy Perkins and daughter, Marsha Jean of Salt Lake City, called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Jessen March 22. Duke Rochell of Ogden was a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rochell over the weekend of March 24. He' also called at the Preston Allen and Gilbert Beebe homes. |
