Show By Mrs. Merle Ross Visits Schools In Interest Of FFA Rulon Gilbert, state FFA reporter, report-er, spent last week visiting high schools in his district prior to the state FFA conference, being held in Salt Lake' this week. Rulon has filled his office in this organization very efficiently and has really done a lot of "pep talk" to the schools he visits. The- schools in his district are: Wasatch, North and South Summit, Lincoln, North and South Emery, Altamont, Union Un-ion and Uintah. R. G. Ross spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Ross. His mother returned' to Salt Lake with him to visit and have some dental work done The weed meeting held in My- ton, Friday, was attended by Hale Hol'gate. Several state officials were out for the meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Max Mullins returned re-turned to their home in Salt Lake City after an extended visit with relatives. Max has been convalescing convales-cing after a re-cent illness. While here they have been guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thorn. M. Gilbert and his mother, Mrs. Lula Mullins of Tridell. SCOUTING MOVES The Scouts are really happy to have- some one know they are in the ward, and from all present appearances their Scout leader is going to let them be known, too. Their thanks are extended. to the owners of the Uinta Sales Barn for allowing them to have a food sale at the Barn last Saturday. A neat sum was realized from the event, which will enable them to get going with some of the things they need most. Have an idea we are going to b3 hearing more from this group. Bill Tanner is the guy responsible- for all this new enthusiasm. en-thusiasm. Checking in at the Roosevelt hospital hos-pital Thursday is a new son for Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gilbert. He tipped the scales at sy2 lbs. and will answer to the name of David Olsen. Proud grandparents are- Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Gilbert and Mr. and Mrs. Porter Merrell of Duchesne. Dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Shields on Wednesday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Tanner and family. Mrs. Merle Ross spent the weekend week-end in Salt Lake City with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gwen Bodily. She returned home Sunday with her daughter, who will visit for a week while her husband is in Wendover on business. The girls in the ward were rather disappointed when they discovered dis-covered that new two-toned red and white Chev. belonged to the Hale Holgates and him without a son to show it off. Sounds as if a vacation is in the offing. Mr. and Mrs. Edsel Murphy of Salt Lake City visited friends and relative's here Sunday.
