Curry residence united Miss Gwennita Curry and Robert Dennis Showalter Saturday,, Satur-day,, Aug. 11. A reception followed at the Roosevelt Stake Center. Gwennita Curry Becomes Bride of Robert D. Showalter In impressive rites Saturday evening Miss Gwennita Curry became be-came the bride of Robert Dennis Showalter, with Bishop John L. Swenson of the Roosevelt LDS Ward officiating. The home of the bride's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Reginald O. Curry, provided the setting for the ceremony, after which a buffet buf-fet supper was served in the garden to appproximately eighty guests. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. C. Roy Showalter of Vernal. A pink and white color scheme predominated in table decorations and floral arrangements. Later a reception at the Roosevelt Roose-velt Stake Center complimented the justweds, where huge baskets of coral and white gladoli served as a background for the bridal grouD and the reception hall. The . bride was gowned in a model, of Venetian lace and tulle over satin fashioned with a scoop neckline and long tapered sleeves. The bouffant skirt of lace and tule was floor-length and her veil of illusion cascaded from a tiara of seed pearls and rhiestones. she carried a bouquet of Happiness Happi-ness roses. Attending the bride were Mrs. Andrew J. Curtis, matron of honor; hon-or; Miss Rosemary Daniels an,d Miss Leota Pitt. Their similarly styled gowns were of rose crys-tallette crys-tallette and they had white carnation carna-tion corsages. Little Becky , Curry, sister of the bride, was the flower girl and also wore a rose crys-tallette crys-tallette dress. She carried a basket bas-ket of white daisies and pink snap dragons. Assuming duties of best man was Max Timothy. , Ushers were Max Haws, Lynn Sidoway and Jimmy Curry, brother of the bride. Mother of the bride chose a blue lace gown for her daughter's wedding, while the groom's mother moth-er was attired in a gown of pink lace. Both had corsages of white carnations. Centering the reception table was a beautiful oblong white wedding cake, decorated with pink roses and lattice work, featuring a pink satin stairway ascending tq the miniature bride and groom w'hich were atop. Pouring were Mrs'. Paul Murphy and Mrs. Robert Ro-bert Collier. Assisting with the serving were Ann Murphy, Laura Ann Leavitt, Linda Schmiett and Jackie and Beverly Neilson. Mrs. Elmer Eldredge was in charge of the gifts, assisted by Mrs. Gordpn Eldredge, Mrs. Lee Allred, Dianne Curry and Karen Allred. Miss Nancy Rockwood and Miss Earlene Allred attended the guest book. Master of ceremonies for the program was Paul Murphy, who announced .the following numbers: piano solo, Barbara Collier; song. Bobby LaRose; saxaphone solo, Bonnie Daniels;, piano solo, Jerry-Denver; Jerry-Denver; violin solo, Julie Washburn; Wash-burn; piano duet, Jerry and Julie Washburn, vocal solo; Earl Gardner; Gard-ner; vocal duet, Mrs. Jay S, Fitzgerald Fitz-gerald and Bennie Schmeitt, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Schmiett. Dancing was enjoyed to Reynolds' Rey-nolds' orchestra. Jackson Hole, Wy'o., was the honeymoon destination for the bridal pair. For traveling the new Mrs. Showalter chose a brown sheath dress with pink .accessories. The newlylweds will, make their home in Slater, Colo., until fall, when both plan to continue their studies at the USAC in ' Logan. Out-of-town visitors attending the reception were ' Mrs. Henry Rasmussen of Wellington; Mrs. Larence West, Bingham Canyon; Mrs.. Dale Johnston, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Harold C. Anderson, Layton; and Mr and Mrs. Andrew J. Curtis, Cheyenne, Wyoming. |
