Show Catholic flotes By Rev. Francis Pellegrino This week the Sisters of the Atonement are making their Can-nonical Can-nonical Retreat at Good Shepard Parish in Dragerton in Carbon County. Sisters from Bingham Canyon, Roosevelt, Dragerton and Alamosa, Colo, make the annual Retreat together. Sunday evening over KVEL the the Life of Saint Paul the Apostle was heard' on the Ave Maria Hour, Next Sunday the Franciscan Fathers will present the life of Saint John M. Vianney (Cure D 'Ars). Patron Saint of Parish Priests. Wednesday was the feast of Our Lady's Assumption into Heaven. Masses in Roosevelt were at 700 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. in Vernal. c-n Today, Thursday, begins the Tri-dumm Tri-dumm (three days of prayer) to our Patronal Saint, Helen the Empress. She was the mother of the famous Constantine, Emperor of the Roman Empire. After her son's conversion to Christianity, she set out in Pilgrimage to the Holy Land in search of the True Cross of Jesus Christ. Having discovered Calvary and' the True Cross, she set up in Jerusalem the Church of the Holy Seplecher. Part of the true cross remained there; part was taken to Constantinople, Constan-tinople, and third portion was transported to the City of Rome and plaped for public veneration in the mighty church of Holy Cross. Devotion on these days will begin be-gin with Holy Mass at 7:00 in the morning and at 7:30 in the evening the Rosary, Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament and prayers in honor of St. Helen will be offered. Leaving for California and their j studies will be Richard and Phillip Phil-lip LaCrose, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Henry LaCroce of Ft. Duchesne. Du-chesne. Both boys are studying for the Roman Catholic Priesthood Priest-hood w'ith the Franciscans at Santa Barbara, A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LaCorse, Sister Mary Carmelita, is a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame (Our Lady) at Omaha, Nebraska. Vistors at the Rectory in Roosevelt Roose-velt recently were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rendle and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Marinoni of Price and Rev. Rudy Daz of Tooele, Also visiting visit-ing here were Mrs. ' John Pellegrino, Pelle-grino, mother of the Pastor, and his brother, Anthony Albert Pellegrino, Pelle-grino, of Carmichael, Calif.
