Show Bsfposid P-TA Cosiferesice Sei M Union High School On Aug. 22 - Six Department Leaders Assigned To Conduct Active Sessions; Local And Regional Officers Expected The Parent-Teachers Regional Conference for Region 6, comprising Duchesne, Uintah and Daggett Counties, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Union High School, announced Mrs. Howard Roberts, regional, re-gional, director. Several state officers and a national representative, Mrs. Ellen Dell Bieler of Western Springs, Illinois, will be present to conduct the sessions and assist in the department work. Mrs. H. Cecil Baker, president of the Utah Congress of Parents and Teachers, will bring greetings from the state and give the president's message. The opening session is scheduled schedul-ed from 2:00 3:30 pm. at which time guests will be introduced, and Mrs. Bieler will discuss "Circles of Cooperation." A playlet play-let will be presented by local participants. The second session which will last from 3:45 to 5:00 p.m. will feature role playing, curbstone confabs arid' department Work. Departments Planned The -following departments will - ' . be conducted by the various state chairmen and officers: 1. Dept. of Extension including pre-school by-laws and membershipMrs. member-shipMrs. H. Cecil Baker. 2. Dept. of Communications, publicity, publications and National Na-tional Parent-Teachers Mr. W M. Oswald. 3. Dept. of Guidance, parent education ed-ucation and room representatives Miss Winifred Hazen. 4. Dept. of Education, Program and High School Scholarship-Rowan Scholarship-Rowan C. Stutz, superintendent of Duchesne County Schools. 5. Dept. of Community welfare. Juvenile protection, safety and' health Dr. J. C. Moffitt, superintendent super-intendent of Provo City schools. 6. Dept. of School Administrators Administra-tors for principals, teachers and board" members Dr. Moroni Brown. To Be Outstanding According to Mrs. Roberts, regional re-gional . director, the conference promises to be very outstanding with such an experienced group , of leaders to head the various departments. AH local unit arid council officers, of-ficers, committee chairmen and other P-TA workers in the region are exepected to attend' the conference, con-ference, where needd instruction will be given to help leaders in carrying out the P-TA work in ther various schools during the coming year. A luncheon at 12:00 noon will be held at the Frontier Grill for national, state, region and council coun-cil officers and chairmen. |
