The members quilted six quilts to help raise welfare money. A lovely diner was prepered and served by the ladies in the afternoon.. The group honored Mrs. Ruth Jensen with a short progam and handkerchief hand-kerchief shower. She is leaving for a mission to Hawaii soon. Jennie Woodward, Lester Gardner, Gard-ner, Ardell Olsen and Charlotte Henrie went to Avalon last Sunday Sun-day to speak at sacrament meeting, meet-ing, they were accompanied by Deatha Olsen anil Mrs. Gardner. Mr. and Mrs. Al Green and son Chad from Salt Lake were visitors at the home of their friends, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Bastian. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dee Gurr were Mr. and Mrs. T. A- Doriety from Birmingham, Ala. Mrs. Doriety is a sister to Mrs. Gurr. Mrs Patra Olsen entertained at a dinner last Wednesday for Geraldine Powell and two small children from Duchesne Zola Spencer and sons, Tom Gardner and children and Geneva Whiting and two daughters Mr. and' Mrs. Darrel. Wardle from Vernal and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Larsen and daughter De-Ann of Ogden spent a short time with Tal Wardle. Tal had an operation on his back about two months ago and is still confined to his bed. Keith Erickson and wife and four daughters from American Fork spent a few days at the home of "his aunt, Mrs. Deone Spencer. Janice Jenkins from San Diego, Calif is here on a visit for a few weeks while her husband Clifton Jenkins, is on duty in the Navy at Pearl Harbor. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Jensen last week were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lamb, Mr. and Mrs. George Rambo and daughter Glenda from Las Vegas. Their son Ray Jensen and family1 from Salt Lake enjoyed a visit at the Jensen home. Word was received here that Mrs. Frank Whitmore, who had a serious operation at St. Marks hospital a week ago has been given several blood transfusions and her condition is very poor. Mr and Mrs Roger Horrocks from Salt Lake attended the UBIC and spent a short timt at the home of his son, Theron Horrocks. Mr. and Mrs Dan Warner from Moab were weekend vsitors at the home of Patra Olsen, his mother, i HOME ON FURLOUGH Dick Peterson along with his sister Ann, arrived Sunday afternoon after-noon at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Peterson. Dick, who is in the armed service has a 30 day leave and plans on being here to help with the crops. His father recently broke his leg. Ann is employed in Salt Lake. Melody Lynn Riggle has returned re-turned from Calif, where she spent two months with her aunt, Mrs. Ludlow in Long Beach. She returned re-turned to Salt Lake on a B-C, 6-B plane. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Seeley from Mt. Pleasant visited Mr. and Mrs. Deone Spencer last week. Mrs. Glenda Bingham took her Guide Patrol class to Pole Crek Monday. |
