Three more tight basketball games featured the Roosevelt stake M Men basketball race last Wednesday nig;ht, Dec. 30. The fast-stepping Myton team still holds the inside edge, as they took a breath-taker from Roosevelt ward 29-28 in a game that again saw Clark Roberts Rob-erts hit for 14 points. Roosevelt Second had little trouble with Neola as they won 30-22. After taking a commanding lead in the early part of the final M Men game, Moffat appeared ap-peared to have a cinch with Ballard. Bal-lard. But that isn't the way Ballard Bal-lard had it figured out as they made a dramatic come-back during dur-ing the waning moments and as the final whistle stopped the game, it was all tied up, sending send-ing it into an overtime period. Moffat came through with some fancy shooting in the 3-minute overtime to win 29-25. Explorers The Roosevelt ward team remained re-mained close On the heels qf Ballard Monday of this week as they trounced the Second ward Explorer team 46-23. Little Kenny Ken-ny Benson gave every indication indica-tion that fans in these parts will be seeing another Benson for a few years burning up the hardwood, hard-wood, as he slipped through 16 counters from 8 field goals to lead his ward in an easy victory over their fellow townsmen. Ballard won their fifth straight as they humbled Myton 36-18 and Neola squeaked by Ioka 21-20. Aaron Rasmussen lead Ballard in their win with 14 points. |
