Show One Teacher Cut, To Protest Action Thursday night at the show Marion Harrison, school board member, reported that Neola would, have only three teachers this year, instead of four. Representatives from different differ-ent local organizations were appointed ap-pointed to meet Monday, Aug. 18, with 'the state board in Sait Lake to plead the case. Joseph Marx, of Los Angeles, is visiting with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Bastian. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Larsen and children, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Oberhansly and children went on a trip recently to Yellowstone Yellow-stone National Park and other points of interest in Wyoming. The Nephi Smithsons spent the weekend in Ogden with their daughter, Eula. They brought their granddaughter, Diana', home with them. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Harper, of Salt Lake City, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Dye. Gale Eskelson visited recently in Kamas with his friends and relatives. Mrs. Cliff Woodward, of Montwell visited recently with Jen Woodward. Cliff is hauling hay for Mrs. Woodward. Amanda Henrie and Ruth Jensen Jen-sen went to Gusher Tuesday as stake Relief Society visitors. Lionel Jensen was in Fort Duchesne Du-chesne on business Tuesday. Albin Peterson, of Salt Lake City visited 'here recently with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Olif Duncan and Othea went to Salt Lake to attend at-tend the wedding of their son. Wendel, to Miss Gale Jepperson, who were married August 15 in the Salt Lake L D S Temple. Mrs. Wanda Riggle will finish fin-ish a 12-week summer course next week at University of Utah. Mrs. Sadie Blank has been taking care of her little daughter, daugh-ter, Melody Lynn. Mrs. Rigg'e comes home every weekend to be with the family. Mrs. Jay Larsen, Jr., reports that she has a baby brother born in Vernal to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Mitchell. COMMUNITY CLUB MEETS Community Club was held at the park Friday night. Thirty were in attendance. Pot Luck lunch was served. Mrs. Helen Larsen, president, discussed sending a delegate to Salt Lake 1 Monday on behalf of the school. ; Three were chosen to represent , the club in Salt Lake. j Proud parents of a baby daughter are Mr. and Mrs. Don ! Mr. and Mrs. Leland Peterson and children left Tuesday for a week's vacation in California, i They will bring their son, Lon-j Lon-j nie back with them. He has been j visiting friends and relatives j there for the past month. Mr. ! Peterson has 'two sisters and a ! brother residing there. I Neola is to have the Food Booth at the Carnival at Union ! High Friday evening, Aug. 22. Donations of food will be solicited. so-licited. Committees will visit ev ery home thif week. The Carnival Car-nival is being held to raise money with which to buy uniforms uni-forms for the Union High Band. Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Henrie and family are taking a 10-day vacation 'trip through Yellowstone Yellow-stone National Park and Idaho. While in Idaho, they will visit with Ferris' half sister, Mrs. Etta Sanders, at Rexburg, Idaho. |
