Show Floid Hartman Exonerated By Jury In Sheep-Stealiog Gase On Tuesday Floid Hartman. of Mt. Em mons, was exonerated of a grand larceny charge Tuesday when an eight-man jury brought in a ''not uilly" verdict. Mr. Hartman was charged with the theft of a sheep. The jury deliberated only seven minutes min-utes before reaching the "not guilty" verdict. George E. Stewart, Stew-art, Roosevelt attorney, was counsel for Mr. Hartman. The two-day trial began at 2 p. m. Monday and continued through Tuesday. The verdict was read at 5:15 p. m. Tuesday. Judge William Stanley Dunford, of Prove, was presiding district judge. The trial was held in the Duchesne County Courthouse Court-house at Duchesne. Men who served on the eight-man eight-man jury are: Claude S. Murray, Altonah; Bert R. Gardner, Roos- evelt; David Kenneth Clayburn, Eridgeland; Byron B o w d e n, Roosevelt; Howard Andrews, Roosevelt; Ray Thomas,. Tabi-ona; Tabi-ona; Howard Reynolds. Roosevelt; Roose-velt; and Verl Roper, Upalco. Mr. Roper was foreman of the jury. S. Rex Lewis, of Provo. assistant assist-ant district attorney, and James R. Hall, Roosevelt, Duchesne county attorney, represented the State of Utah during the trial proceedings. |
