Show This Week's RECIPE . . . For a very tasty dessert for l the family, or for company, try the following Apple Crisp re- cipe, sent in this week by Mrs. LaRue Laris. Many varieties of cooking apples are now on. the market and provide a very nutritious nu-tritious food supply. Apple Crisp (Serves six generously) 6 large cooking apples, peeied and sliced and placed in j heavy aluminum skillet, i ' Then combine: Vz cup water 1 tsp. lemon juice Vz tsp. cinnamon Pour over sliced apples. Ija mixing bowl mix the following: fol-lowing: 16 graham crackers crushed 1 cup sugar Va cup soft butter 1 tbs. flour Mix well and sprinkle over i apples. j Cover with tight lid and cook slowly on top of stove for 20 i minutes, or until apples are tender. Occasionally remove lid and wipe off excess steam. As soon as apple crisp is done remove lid to prevent steaming. . Serve warm with whipped cream. |
