Show Lake Borham Area CEcsed To Hunters For '51 Upon recommendation of the Duchesne Fish and Game Association, As-sociation, Lake Borham and that area within one-half mile of the lake is closed to hunting again this season. Allen Bond, president of the local association, stated that the basis of this recommendation to the state department was to provide the wild ducks and geese with a refuge in this area so they would remain in Duchesne Du-chesne county the year around and raise their young at Lake Borham. Reasoning of the local club members is that there is little cover around the lake suitable for the hunter; and if the lake is closed to hunting, the birds will return here instead of leaving leav-ing the country when the hunters hunt-ers put them to flight while shooting on the small ponds and streams in this area. Some of these ideas were expounded at the second annual game seminar held at Duchesne this spring. A project to develop devel-op feed for the waterfowl at Lake Borham is being sponsored by the local fish and game association. as-sociation. Several pounds of duck millet was seeded on the mud bars around the lake this summer by club members. |
