America, represented his chapter at the naiional convention in Kansas City, Mo., recently and placed among the top seven boys in the nation in showmanship. He received a gold emblem award. Additional honors came to the Roosevelt Chapter, Future Farmers Farm-ers of America, at the national convention held Oct. 8 to ll as their team rated in the silver emblem group; one team member mem-ber placed in the gold emblem group in judging, and their delegate. del-egate. Tommy Rowley rated the top spot in showmanship. The three-boy team, composed of Dallas Murray, Dale Harrison Harri-son and Doyle Hubert made the trip to enter the judging compe-;tition, compe-;tition, and Tom Rowley was the chapter's delegate to the convention. con-vention. Instead of placing the teams in 1st, 2nd 3id ana 4th places, as is the usual procedure, they were named by groups 1st place group being the gold em-. em-. blem group; 2nd place, silver emblem; em-blem; 3rd place, bronze emblem, etc. The Roosevelt chapter received the silver emblem award and will receive a silver plaque in the near future. The boys placed individually as follows: Dallas Murray, Whirocks, gold emblem award, which places him among the top ten in the nation; Dale Harrison, Lapoint, won the bronze emblem award, and Doyle Huber. La-point La-point took honorable mention. The boys also attended the Livestock Showmanship contest in which Tom Rowley, Roosevelt, Roos-evelt, won the gold emblem award. Only seven boys in tha nation received the gold emblem em-blem award. The Roosevelt chapter was accompanied ac-companied to Missouri by Sharon Shar-on Cummings, chapter adviser.
