Show DOINGS Tasty-ettes The Tasty-ettes met at the home of their leader, LaNeve Mc-Candless. Mc-Candless. The opening prayer was given by Nila Smith, Judy Mc-Candless Mc-Candless gave the code and the singing was led by Nila. Rolled biscuits and a chocolate drink were made and eaten by the girls. A demonstration on the cutting of lettuoe and the shrdeding of cabbage for salads was given by Mary Ann Adams and Nila Smith. Carolyn McEwan of Orem was a guest. The girls met again on Tuesday, Tues-day, June 28. The prayer was given by Mary Ann Adams, the code by Louise Wigginton, and songs were; led by Nila Mae Smith. They made cinnamon rolls and malted milk. A demonstration demonstra-tion on slicing of tomatoes and the spreading of cheese for sand- wiches was given by Louise Wigginton Wig-ginton and Judy McCandless. Gay-Chefs Ann Montgomery reported for the Gay-Chefs 4-H Club. The girls assembled Tuesday, June 22 at the home of their leader, Mrs. Dora ' Montgomery. Their president, Vickie Montgomery was in charge. The minutes were read by Carolyn Mech&m, secretary secre-tary and songs were led by Sally Beers. The girls learned how to coddle eggs. They made and served egg salad and meat and egg sandwiches sand-wiches along with chocolate and maple milk drinks. Grovecreekettes Tuesday, June 21 the Grovecreekettes Grove-creekettes held their meeting at the home of their leader, Mrs. Barbara Yocum. Opening prayer was offered by Jane NeWman. The pledge was led by Margret Gilbert. They began making thair practice article for the year, pa. jamas. They were given their books and sheets and after the close of instruction refreshments were served. Those present besides those menteioned were Linda Yocum, Christine Klemm, Carolyn Coll-edge, Coll-edge, Betty Beers, Erma Klemm. Those excused were Daiiynn Rad-mall Rad-mall and Susanne Turner. Happy Stitchers On June 23 the Happy Stitchers Stitch-ers held their seventh meeting at the home of Elnine Beveridge. Cassie Stubbs took charge and Sandra Pullman gave the prayer. Connie Anderson and Elaine Beveridge Bev-eridge gave the health lesson. Demonstrations were given by Laura Wadley, Cassie Stubbs, Susan Su-san Clegg and Saundra Pullman. Connie Anderson led in the song. Junior leader Joyce Swenson called call-ed the Achievement Roll. Refreshments were served and a game was played. Entomology . The Manila Entomology Club held their first meeting at the Manila Ward Church. Elections were held and Bill Warnick was elected president. Mark Williams was elected vice president. Michael Mich-ael Harvey, secretary; Scott Warnick, War-nick, reporter and Lonnie Olsen song leader, with Robert Richards, Rich-ards, chairman of the health committee, com-mittee, and Gary Robinson, chairman chair-man of the recreation committee, were the other officers elected. The second meeting was held on Monday and a brief report given by eaoh member of the work done on assignments. Home Rangers This week in 4-H the Home Rangers visited the Star Flour Mills in American Fork. Henry C. Parduhn showed the club thru the mill. The club members learned how wheat is turned into flour. Then, after taking the club members through, they were each given a 2 in 1 salt and pepper shaker. Lucky Clovers Meeting of th? Lucky Clovera 4-H Club was held June 28 at the Susan Larsen home. Janet Harvey offered the opening prayer. pray-er. Laura Lee Carter led the group in the. pledge and a 4-H song. Laura Lee gave a talk on blood and Kathleen Fugal gave a talk on Tools for Easy Cleanup. Kathleen made molasses cookies and Janet Harvey and Susan Larsen Lar-sen made chocolate drop cookies. Shauna Noble and Laura Lee Carter made sugar cookies. Susan Larsen was in charge of the game, which was monopoly. The meeting adjourned at 12:30 p.m. K-Ketts K-Ketts met June 22 at the home of their leader, Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth Manley. The meeting was conducted by vice president, Julie Ann Davis. Minutes were read by Barbara Manley, secretary and singing by Susan Chidester and Joyce Davis, junior song leader. For thedr afternoon's work they made egg sandwiches and egg and meat sandwiches and banana and fruit nog drinks. Members of the new club besides be-sides the leader are Karen Walker, Walk-er, president; Laurel Ostergaard, reporter; Julie Davis, vice president; presi-dent; Barbara Manley, secretary; and Susan Chidester. song leader. Apronst rings The fourth meeting of Apron-strings Apron-strings 4-H Club was held at the Bonnie Walker home. The prayer pray-er was given by Sherry Walker. Girls then discussed the business of the club. Af ter they made a meat sandwich and banana milk shake. At the fifth meeting prayer -was given by Susan Boren. Then the 4-H creed was read. They then prepared drop biscuit and a maple drink. While 'the biscuits were baking Sherry Walker gave a demonstration. Prayer at the sixth meeting was given by Cynthia Hall. Then a rolled biscuit was made. After -this, Joan Barney gave a demonstration. MTBB The meeting of the MTBB 4-H Club at the home of Sue Culli-more, Culli-more, was held June 23. Joy Cul-limore Cul-limore openid with prayer and Connie Swenson led in a song. Gay Gillman led in the pledge. After the preliminaries were -over the girls began working on cutting out their skirts and blouses blou-ses and began sewing on them under the supervision of thedr leader. Busy Belles June 1 Busy Belles met at the Kathleen Carlson home. After business was taken care of the girls worked on their projects and enjoyed visiting with each other. June 8 meeting was held at Carlsons. After prayer and pledge the girls made plans for their safety project, and then all worked work-ed on their projects. Light refreshments re-freshments were served. The Club met at their leader's home June 22. Prayer was given by Pamela Iverson and Cheryl Jeppson led the girls in the pledge. Nancy Makin led them in their singing and they were told the first phase of their project pro-ject must be finished by next Tuesday. Nancy Richards has started on her phase II. |
