Greenwood, 50, 85 South 2nd East, American Fork, Utah County Democratic Chairman Chair-man and County Road Superintendent Superin-tendent since January, 1959, has announced his candidacy for a two-year term as County Commissioner. Com-missioner. Mr. Greenwood, long active in the Democratic Party will be a -delegate to the national Democratic Demo-cratic Convention in Los Angeles July 11 from Utah. Ha was American Am-erican Fork precinct chairman from 1942 to 1956 and prior to 1942 was a district Democratic chairman. He served as American Fork mayor in 1948 and 1949 and as city councilman in 1946 and 1947. Mr. Greenwood owns and operates op-erates Greenwood Service and Motor Co. in American Fork. He is a charter member of the American Fork Rotary Club and Junior Chamber of Commerce. . He is past president of American Fork Jaycees and holds life membership mem-bership in the Junior Chamber of Commerce. He served as first chairman of the Jaycee-sponsored American Fork Steel Days. In 1946 he was named Most Outstanding Young Man of American Am-erican Fork by the Jaycees. He is a current member and past president of the Rotary Club , which he helped to organize in 1945 and was a board member of American Fork Hospital, built during his administration as mayor. He helped organize and served as manager from 1950 to 1956 of the American Fork baseball team, which later became a member mem-ber of Utah Industrial League. He served as member of the board of directors of Utah State Industrial League for eight years prior to 1958. Aotive as a Boy Scout leader, he was in charge of transportation transporta-tion for Alpine Stake area for six years. He has been active as an M-Man M-Man teaoheir and managed the M-Men basketball team for 10 years prior to 1940. - Mr. Greenwood was born in American Fork. He is married to the former Glenda Gatherum. The couple have three children, Robert Greenwood, who manages his father's service station and car agency. Carma, a graduate of Brigham Young University, is a teacher in Alpine School Dis- trict. David Greenwood Jr., is a senior at American Fork High School. Mr. Greenwood has served as a member of the superintendency of the Sunday School in American Ameri-can Fork Fifth Ward for the past six years. |
