Show Legion National Commander Voices Survival Warning at Department of Utah Convention More than 800 Legionaires and Ladies of the Auxiliary gave a standing ovation to Martin B. McKneally, national Commander of the American Legion, last Friday Fri-day night. Commander McKneally was the featured speaker at the annual an-nual Department of Utah convention conven-tion banquet, held at the BYU Joseph Smith Building and sponsored spon-sored by the Legion Auxiliary. "The paramount issue facing the American people today is their survival as a free nation," Commander McKneally said. Americans can insure their survival sur-vival only by preserving their inherited in-herited rights, seeking and finding find-ing faith in God and maintaining their individual and collective dignity, the speaker emphasized. Legionaires and auxiliary members mem-bers were called upon to create a "new patriotism" in America to "meet the trying needs of our times," by Commander McKneally. McKneal-ly.
