Show Pool Fund Workers Urged to Finish Pledge Contacts All Pleasant Grove swimming pool drive workers who have not completed their house to house contacts are asked "by the pool committee to do so and the money mon-ey and pledges turned in to the finance committee. With many of the districts still not reporting, the fund now has approximately $6,000 in cash and $15,000 in pledges. The pool committee com-mittee is anxious to see that enough money comes in so that the pool can be started this fall and completed before the next swimming season. In the long run, the citizens of Pleasant Grove will save by constructing con-structing their own pool. The cost for the swimming and transportation transpor-tation for the city recreation and scouting participants , has been about $2,000 a year. If we consider consid-er the cost of other swimming excursions the cost would be considerably con-siderably highen The benefits of additional business busi-ness for Pleasant Grove will more than compensate for any money businessmen contribute to the pool. Instead of parents taking their children swimming to surrounding sur-rounding communities and shopping shop-ping there, many will want to shop in Pleasant Grove while their children are swimming in the new pool. An attractive pool should also stimulate people from surrounding areas to do business locally. More important than the financial fin-ancial returns will be the increased in-creased enjoyment, participation, safety and convenience of a local pool. The citizens and civic groups who have given much of their time and resources are asked to continue their support for financing finan-cing the pool. Certainly a swimming swim-ming pool is not an overwhelming overwhelm-ing task for a progressive city the size of Pleasant Grove. |
