Show Mrs William Smith Hosts Mothers Study Club Feb. 5 Mrs. 'William C. Smith -welcomed Mothers Study Club and g-uests to her home on Thursday afternoon. Vie president Lacy White was in charge. Deans Paulson Paul-son read the club collect. The program was built around the club theme, read by Mrs. Smith. "America is our heritage. A land of light and shade, "of tranquil beauty, ruffged strength. For God's high purpose made, Mother's shall be the welding power, of nations balanced wheri, direct Lord in this noble task, our destiny reveal." Mrs. George Jaynes gave the talk on the New Stars and Strip-s, giving a brief history of Alaska and its importance to the United States. The new flag will be displayed on July 4. The flag she said, is a symbol of liberty, union and security." Mrs. Jaynes concluded her talk by reading "I Am Old Glory." Mrs. N. W. Smith of Provo sang "The Flag Without a Stain." Mrs. Jaynes read "The Citizens" Citi-zens" by Louis Zara and Mrs. Smith sang a second number, "America the Beautiful." A delicious tray luncheon was served by the hostess to guests, Oarol Jaynes, Mrs. N. W. Smith, Carol Butler, Donna Ash, Mrs. Melvin Tagg, and club members mem-bers present. Next club meeting will be with Mrs. Lacy White on Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. |
