The marriage of Miss Kaye Johnson and Mr. Blaine Shields was solemnized Wednesday at the First Ward Chapel in Pleasant Grove by Bishop Harold Bullock. Parents of the lovely bride are Mr. arid Mrs. Roy A. Johnson. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Shields of Pleasant ! G'rove. At the beautiful candlight ceremony, cere-mony, the bride received the guests in an exquisite gown of chantilly lace and nylon tulle over a hoop skirt of slipper satin. Full length, the dress has long pointed sleeves and the neck is encircled with tiny lace daisies and seed pearls. Her fingertip veil of white illusion net fell from a tiny flat bonnet. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations and a white orchid. or-chid. Elaine, sister of the bride was maid of honor. She chose as her gown a ballerina length formal of satin and net in a light coral. Sharon Johnson, cousin of the bride, and the following girl friends were the bridesmaids. Maralyn Mar-alyn Shields, Louise Slater, Agnes Urie, Jeanine Johnson, Renee Johnson. They were attired in ballerina bal-lerina length formals in shades of yellow and carried bouquets of stephonets and glads. Little Miss Lauralee Shields and Glee Seeley, dressed in miniature formals and holding tiny baskets of flowers were flower girls. Dressed in a little white dinner jacket and dark trousers, Aaron Ferguson acted as ring bearer. Guests of the evening were greeted by the bride's parents. par-ents. Mrs. Johnson was charming charm-ing a pale blue afternoon dress. With the groom were his father and mother. Mrs. Shields wore a I gown of dusky rose crepe. Wesley Shields, brother of the groom, was best man. At the door to welcome the guests were Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Newell New-ell Adamson. Cora Lee Johnson attended to the guest book. In the gift rooms were Mrs. Hannah Swenson, Mrs. Lois Ferguson, Fer-guson, Mrs. Nena Huff, Mrs. Ned-ra Ned-ra Swenson, Mrs. Hazel McClain, Miss Carol Jean Palmer, and Miss Rush Clark. Miss Wilma Ellison was hostess of the refreshment room where a beautiful three-tiered wedding cake of delicate pink was on display. dis-play. The entertainment for the evening ev-ening was in the form of a program pro-gram and dancing. Carrel Mitchell was the master of ceremonies, assisted as-sisted by Mr. and Mrs. William C. Beckstrom. After a short honeymoon, Blaine will return to Washington where he is stationed with the Armed Forces, and Kaye will resume her studies at the Pleasant Grove High School. |
