Show Hunters Cautioned About Campfires And Cigarettes Wallace Saling. American Fork District Forest Ranger, cautions the deer hunters and campers to be extremely cautious this year with cigarettes and campfires. Because Be-cause of the dry condition there is an extreme fire hazard. Mr. Saling Sal-ing states that the leaves are falling fall-ing very fast and that most patches patch-es of quaken a,sps are practically bare although the oak and underbrush under-brush is still quite dense. Another notice to hunters is that porcupines bi: killed. They are doing considerable damage to young trees that they feed on during the winter and also to "curious" animals and stock. There have been eight fires to date and two of them could have been very serious if it hadn't been for the alertness of the fire guard in this area of the United National Nation-al Forest. |
