Show March of Dimes Drive Shows Increase Over 1952 The final tabulation of the 1953 March of Dimes showed a slight increase over the previous year. The total collection amounted to $1,136, compared to $1,050 for last year. The receipts were broken down as follows: Collection in schools $100; miniature Iron Lungs $69; Basketball game, $60; collections at the theatre, $65; donations from clubs $27; tickets on the automobile $287; and the mother's march $528. The mothers march total was broken down as follows: 1st ward $105; 2nd ward $129; 3rd ward $97; Grove ward $125; Manila ward $72. The drive co-chairmen, Mr. Hales Hal-es and Mr. Cances wish to take this opportunity to thank all the activity chairmen who spent much of their time and made such a fine success of the drive. Also, they wish to thank all the people of Pleasant Grove who co-operated so willingly in their contributions to make the Polio Drive a success. |
