Show Andrew W. Medved obituaries ) Ora Chipman Andrew William (Bill) Medved, 67, died Sunday, May 4, 1986 at his home in Sebastopol, Calif, of cancer. He was born Nov. 27, 1919 in Sunnyside, the son of Jack and Mary Strakey Medved. He married Dorothy Thompson. They were later divorced. He then married Ina Matalmakie in 1948. He was raised in Mapleton and attended schools in Springville. He moved to California in 1940 where he served in the Navy. He was a painter by trade and a life member of the Painters Union. Survivors include his wife of Sebastopol, Calif.; two daughters: Mrs. Dale (Mary Lou) Larsen, Highland; and Mrs. Michael D. (Diane) Peters, Lehi; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters: Frank Medved, Las Vegas, Nev.; Tony Medved, Fred Medved, Mrs. J.D. (Connie) Dalton and Mrs. Lee (Colleen) Snelson, all Springville; and Mrs. Josephine Kilpatrick, Hillboro, Calif. Services were held Thursday, May 8, in California. Jeanette Jones 1 t V. V . f Ora Holman Chip-man, Chip-man, 90, died Sunday, May 11, 1986 ir American Fork. She was born March 3, 1896 in Manila to Artemus and Annie Rawlings Holman. She married Delbert Chipman Jan. 16, 1917 in the Salt Lake Temple of the LDS Church. He died Jan. 23, 1980. She graduated from BYU with a teaching certificate. She founded and taught kindergarten kin-dergarten in American Fork. She helped to start the American Fork Hospital and was a Red Cross worker in Utah County for 35 years. During the depression years she was director of relief for north Utah County. She was active in youth programs and she dustry. She was president of both the Utah Wool Growers and the National Wool Growers Association. She started the Make It With Wool Programs. She helped start the Pageant of the Arts in American Fork. She was a member of the LDS Church in the American Fork Fourth Ward. She served in all church auxiliaries. Survivors include one son, D. Ray Chipman, American Fork; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Servies will be Wednesday, May 14, at 11 a.m. in the American Fork Fourth Ward Chapel, 455 E. 300 North. Burial will be in the American Fork City Cemetery. Jeanette Jones, one-day-old daughter of Dana and Maria Jones, died Wednesday, May 7, 1986 at Primary Children's Hospital. She was born May 7, 1986 in American Fork Hospital., Survivors include in-clude her parents of American Fork; ore sister, Natalie, American Fork; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Abbott, Lehi; Mr. and Mrs. Gyland Jones, Bend, Ore. Graveside services were MOnday, May 12, in the American Fork City Cemetery. Wells Card of Thanks helped start the Christmas Pageant. She was chairman of the American Fork Recreation Department for many years. She was active with her husband in the sheep and wool in- The family of David J. She was born Aug. 14, 1909 in Salt Lake City to Samuel William and Eleanor Louise Cottrell Wright. She was employed during her life at several jobs. She was a member of the LDS Church. Services will be held Wednesday, May 14, at 11 a.m. in the Wing Mortuary Chapel. Friends may call prior to services. Burial will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery. She was born April 9, 1903, in "Kentucky, to Robert 1 David' ' ' and j Amelia Carpenter Bell. She married Stephe Miller in 1948. He died ' Feb. 23, 1982. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by one j daughter, Mrs. Andrew grandchildren, four great grandchildren; one sister, Lillian C. Bell, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be , : held Wednedfiy May 14 at 2 p.m. at Anderson and Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 E. 100 North, American Fork. . Burial will be in the American Fork , . City Cemetery. R. (Patricia) Birrell, Highland; three James Buchanan James Wilson Buchanan, 61, formerly of Lehi, died May 10 at the VA Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz., of cancer. He was born June 30, 1924, in Minerville, Utah, to Wilbert Allen and Evelyn Mae Bingham Buchanan. He marVied Beverly Rae Thomas March 18, 1949 in Lehi. They were later divorced. He was educated in Lehi schools and was a veteran of World War II. He worked as . a machinist in Phoenix. He is survived by three children: Darwin Buchanan, Citrus Heights, Calif. ; Linda Watkins, Auburn, Calif.; and Rhonda Kipp, Dutch Flat, Calif.; five' grandchildren; grand-children; one brother, George Buchanan, Idaho Falls, Idaho. Services will be held in Phoenix, Ariz., with a graveside service in Auburn, Calif. . Burial will be in the Auburn City Cemetery. , |
