Show t .TVJ , M F i ' k .1 ' XlLi lZJ Vikings of the Month for May are, L-It, Todd Cates, Brice Bean, Stacy Bullock, Elizabeth Barnes, Kristi Cox and Jalynn Eggett. Vikings of the Month named at PGHS Kristi Lyn Cox and Todd Cates from the senior class, Stacy Bullock and JaLynn Eggett, Jr. from the junior class, and Elizabeth Barnes and Bruce Bean from the sophomore class have been selected as Vikings of the Month for May. Kristi Lyn is the daughter of Nyle and Kay Cox. She lives in Lehi but has attended school at Pleasant Grove High School for the past year. Kristi is a vivacious redhead who loves singing, music, piano playing and te.aching piano. She won the Reflections Contest in music for a number of years while she was in elementary, junior high and senior high schools. She still enjoys creating new music and plays her own compositions. Kristi has participated in many plays and was chosen as the outstanding out-standing youth actress in her stake. She sings with a group of young people and has sung with the Utah Valley Choral Society. She would like to be either a biology or physiology teacher or go into pre-med. She has taken AP classes in these areas. This year she has enjoyed the choir tour, games, dances and, lighting of the ",G", on Homecoming. . "". ' Todd is the son of Rex G. and Kay R. Cates. He was born in Logan but has lived in Seattle, Argentina and Albuquerque. ' He likes skiing, fishing and playing racquetball. He has played soccer on a team in Albuquerque for five years and has a great interest in bicycles and bicycle racing. He has received his Eagle Scout rank and is listed in "Who's Who Among Ameriacan High School Students." He plans to attend BYU next fall and major in electrical engineering. Stacy is the daughter of Barry and Gloria Bullock. She likes to sing, dance, ice skate and has played the piano for nine years. She has done volunteer work at the American Fork Hospital and Utah State Training School. She works at Smith Brothers Market and has worked at Taco . Amigo. Stacy likes to travel and has been to Hawaii and spent four weeks touring the eastern states. She would like to be a nurse and has worked in an accelerated program in high school and will graduate at the end of her junior year. She has received a scholarship from Utah Technical College in Orem-Provo and will start in June. Ja is the son of Mr. and Mrs. JaLynn Eggett of Lindon. He enjoys the outdoors and likes to hunt, fish and camp. He is a fan of snow skiing, also. He likes all sports and participates in most. His favorite is basketball. He played Little League baseball. He was checker and chess champion in elementary school. He ran track this spring. Ja is an Eagle Scout and is active in his church group. He has held many leadership positions in his ward. Elizabeth Rae is the daughter of James and Alice Barnes. She enjoys family trips and especially valued a trip to the east coast, visiting historic places in and near Boston, vacationing with friends in Vermont, Ver-mont, and visiting friends in New Hampshire and New Jersey: She hopes to return there again this summer. A camping trip with friends in the California High Sierras was a highlight of last summer. Parts of each summer are spent in Colorado on her grandparents fruit farm. Elizabeth enjoys a variety of activites such as snow skiing, water skiing, hiking, tennis, piano, violin and track (until a recent collision with a hurdle), and spending time with her friends. Bruce is the son of Bert and Nancy Bean. He is a straight A student and is regularly on the honor roll . He spends a lot of time using and programming computers and he plans to go into the computer or business field. He is also learning the trade of carpetlaying from his older brother. Bruce has been playing the piano for eight years and has completed four years of the student achievement, a ,test of piano, and ' music skill. ' He likes sports, especially golf and volleyball. He tried out for the high school golf team and would like to be on it next year. He also played Jr. Jazz basketball this year. Bruce likes dancing and music. He has his Duty to God award and will ; soon recieve his Eagle. |
