Show Norm Barton discusses P.G. history with Battlecreek Camp of the DUP The Battlecreek DUP Camp held their closing social Monday, May 12 in the garden room in the city recreation building. Co-Captain Eva Reynolds conducted con-ducted and welcomed the members who were present. Chaplain Thelma Yorgason gave an opening prayer. ' Hostesses Thelma Schramm, Barbara Barter, Gweneth Taylor and Lillian Swenson decorated the tables where a delicious pot-luck luncheon was enjoyed by 22 members. Colleen Gardiner, lesson leader, invited Principal Norman Barton to attend and present his slides on land marks and early h istory of Pleasant Grove. Mr. Barton is a member of the Historical Preservation Preser-vation Committee. Pleasant Grove, established in 1850, is the most beautifully situated city in Utah County as it spreads out 'neath the foot of the magnificent lime-stone Mount Timpanogos. It is important to appreciate and love our heritage, to share its history and for each one of us to keep and continue the history of our city. |
