Show History Fair winners announced Nine area students and one teacher were selected as winners at the Utah State History Fair, held at the University of Utah last month. More than 400 students in the fourth through twelfth grades from 30 school districts throughout the state participated. Winners from, the junior and senior divisions are now eligible to participate in the National History Fair in Washington, D.C. in June. Honored were: Thomas Gardiner, Shelley Elementary, American Fork, third place, primary division "Early Utah Indian and Mormon Relations." Shae Johnson and Tara Johnson, Barratt Elementary, American Fork, First Place, primary division, f or "Where's the Train. " Michael Schmuhl and Janette Schmuhl, Barratt Elementary, American Fork, Third Place, junior division, for "Freight Trains; Conflict and Compromise." Marcus Williams, Grovecrest Elementary, Pleasant Grove, Third Place, primary division, for "The Gettysburg Address." Margaret Ann Worthington and Kisha Clark, Meadow Elementary, Lehi and Ricky Harper, Shelley Elementary, American Fork, were recognized for quality use of m aps in History Fair projects. Jonathan Katz, Meadow Elementary, Lehi was one of 10 teachers recognized for their contribuitons to the History Fair. |
