Show Candy Capers musical preschool to feature readin', writin', and 'rithmetic Candy Capers, a pre-school which features teaching the three R's through music, art and literature has opened in Pleasant Grove. Fifty percent of the curriculum emphasizes music. By presenting -music theory, ear training, voice, knowledge of keyboard, chords, transposing, music games, etc. the pre-schoolers are also learning the concepts of reading, writing, math and the discipline needed to succeed in school. As the child advances in the classes, they learn how to play Thythm Band, Swiss Melodee Bells, Xylos and Pipe Chimes. The other half of the cirriculum deals with developing the imagination through the use of color, shapes, play acting, puppetry, pup-petry, memorization, and the study of children's classics. Also Candy Capers offers the study of music appreciation, body coordination skills, phonics, articulation skills, and other activities, as well as having the opportunity to perform throughout the county. In addition to playing the piano, she plays folk and classical guitar; altoi and soprano recorders; and has taught ch ildren in music and dance for about 20 years. The theory behind the performing arts pre-school is that children can have fun learning their ABC's and are not as bored with school when they enter kindergarten. Two classes are being organized.
