Kelly Peterson and Knsli Ann Hollis have chosen Friday, Aug. 22, to be married in the Logan LDS Temple. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a garden reception held in their honor at the home of the bride's parents, 575 S. 1500 East, Pleasant Grove. Parents of the bride are Al and Katheryn Hollis, Pleasant Grove. Parents of the groom are Bruce and Bonnie Peterson, Logan. The bride-ele- graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. She is currently attending BYU where she is majoring in computer science. Kelly graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He served an LDS mission in Japan. Kelly is also attending BYU, majoring in zoology. The couple will make their first home in Provo. Kelly Peterson Kristi Ann Hollis Garden reception to honor Laurie Memmott, Scott McGary i Laurie Memmott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Memmott, Pleasant Grove, will marry Scott Dale McGary, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom McGary, Cody, Wyoming on Saturday, Aug. 23. A garden reception will honor the couple that evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Manila First Ward in the Grove, 8800 N. 4000 West. The event is open to all friends and relatives. Maid of honor will be Paula Memmott, with Becky Barrus, Stacey Gillman and Kelly Cherrington as bridal attendants. Best man will be Bill McGary, with Shane Memmott attending. Bridal showers were given by Sharon Fullmer, Becky Barrus, Stacey Gillman, Sheila Memmott and Maria Memmott. The bride-elec- t graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. She was active in A Cappella Choir and drill team. She attended Utah Technical College and graduated from the University of Utah Medical Center in radiologic technology. Her fiance graduated from Cody High School where he was active in baseball and basketball. He was in the National Guard for two years and is currently serving in the United States Air Force in Texas. The couple will make their first home in Austin, Texas. Smith of American Fork, will marry Harold "Eric" Nelson, son of Harold and Jane Nelson, Pleasant Grove, Friday, Aug. 22, in the Manti LDS Temple. A reception will honor the couple that evening from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove 10th Ward Chapel, 475 N. 700 East. The event is open to all friends and relatives. Matron of honor will be Michelle A. Nelson; maid of honor is Jacqueline Smith; bridesmaids are Valerie A. Clark and Jill Smith all are sisters of the bride. Leilani Card will serve as flower girl. Best men will be Carl Johanson, and Kent Fugal, friends of the groom, and John Smith, brother of the bride. Special guests will be the bride's grandmother, Alta Hone, and the groom's grandparents, Caroline Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Fillmore. She served an LDS mission in Charlotte, N. C, and is currently employed at the Utah State Training School as a clinical instructor. Her fiance graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. He served an LDS mission to Arequipa, Peru. He is currently employed at Hansen's Candy in Provo and is attending BYU where he is majoring in civil engineering. Rachelle Ashton, daughter of Don and Sherrie Ashton, Pleasant Grove, will marry Todd B. Brown, son of Mrs. Ann Brown and the late Clair E. Brown, Taylorsville, Wednesday, Aug. 27, in Pleasant Grove. A reception will honor the couple that evening from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Bungalow, 325 S. 100 West, Pleasant Grove. The event is open to all friends and relatives. Bridal attendants will be Carolyn Frisby, Tammie Beck, Lexie Brown, Elyece Brown and Sherron Ashton. Flower girl is Chantel Ashton. Ringger promoted to manager in Washington firm Arthur Andersen & Co. announces the promotion of Michael G. Ringger to Manager in the Private Venture Service Group. Mike received a Bachelor's of Science degree in accounting from BYU. Prior to joining Arthur An-dersen & Co. in 1982, he was em-ployed by Old National in Spokane and Zions Utah Bancorporation in Salt Lake City. , He specializes in closely-hel- d and emerging businss and in the Financial Services Industry, and will work in the firm's Bellevue office. ' Mike, his wife Patrice, and their three children live in Bothell. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ringger, residents of Pleasant Grove. Michael Ringger Crafts, art and flower show items sought j Those residents of the community .planning on entering crafts, art, or flowers for display at the Com-munity Fair on Saturday, Aug. 30, should have them at the Community ' Center between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. The chairpersons for each of the displays remind participants that items should be brought in early so that they can be prepared for display. ' The crafts display will have a special section to feature crafts made by pioneers, grandparents, and in the area. Jeanne Adamson urges everyone in the community who has something to contribute to this special display to be sure to enter it. ' Those with questions may call Jeanne Adamson for crafts, Genevieve Fotheringham for art, and Moya Told or Vada Winters for flowers. The flower show will not be judged. Everyone who would like to show some of the beautiful blooms from their garden are invited to do J so. :i In addition, the Garden Club will hold a plant sale during the day. if Many types of plants will be for sale, 'a Proceeds from the sale will be used to purchase wildflower seeds for , community beautification. 'a Senior students invited to join high school PTSA s Linda unipman, president of the Pleasant Grove High School PTSA, reminded parents and students that in order for a student to apply for a PTSA scholarship he or she must be a member of the PTSA. Mrs. Chipman said that some students last year thought that if their parents were members of the PTSA they could apply for the PTSA scholarship. This is not the case, she explained. The students themselves iriusfbe members in order to apply. Each year the PTSA at the high school awards scholarships to two or three deserving students. The PTA Council in Pleasant Grove also awards some scholarships to deserving students. Funds for the council scholarships come from all the schools in the city.
