Show Manila School tries bilingual education with new teacher " I VI J i' 1 .... x. By KAI.YN SKCKETAN America Chumpitaz is pioneering Bilingual Education in the Manila Elementary school. A native of Peru, America plansn to introduce a new language and also teach the children about other people. America loves working with people and especially with children. She attended school in Peru, studied psychology and taught the first and fifth grade. She worked for the LDS Church Education system and served a mission in Chili. America came to Utah to complete com-plete her education at BYU. She received her degree in Bilingual and Special Education. America feels a brotherhood with people of all nationalities. She appreciated working with iliteracy and nutrition problems in Mexico.. She enjoyed traveling to Mexico, Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil and Chili. America has set a goal to help others to have a better life. She has discovered by helping others we can see the real meaning of life. She loves working with the students at Manila Elemetary and the Spanish emersion program. America Chumpitaz, from Peru, is excited about introducing in-troducing Spanish to students at Manila Elementary. |
