Once you've seen them in action you'll come back the following week just to watch them That's right, softball! Just like we used to watch in years past at the old field by the old P.G. Bakery. The officials then were Glen Gilbert and Jess Thorne. Today we have Bob Morton, Jim Gilbert and Lee Gillman. A motley crew, but they do job, and when finished, it's been done right! Last week we saw home runs by Mike Schoell, K. Rutledge, Lind- wood Carter, Ron Kelley, John I Qjeave, Riley Hicks and Howard I Cooper. Gary Roberts of SouthamWarburton made a great 1 one handed catch in left field that 1 robbed someone of free bases. Offensively, Craig Giles, the cat- cher for Walker Oil, made some 1 real "heads-up" throws and nailed runners at second and . third base. 1 Paul Herbert of SouthamWarburton SouthamWar-burton got on base when he mistakenly threw the bat at the ball! Don't tell me you can see things like that at home. All I can do is tell you that it's great! If you choose to be a non-I non-I believer, that's your choice. For I those of you who do believe, I'll see I you at Shannon Field. .
